Overview

Soundarya Lahari (waves of beauty) is a collection of 100 shlokas (verses). It consists of 2 parts—the first 41 shlokas are called Ananda Lahari (waves of happiness), and the 59 slokas that follow are called Soundarya Lahari, which depicts the beauty and glory of Goddess Devi.

Most artists who develop versions of Soundarya Lahari group the 100 shlokas in 5 sets of 20 shlokas. And they compose each set in one Carnatic ragam. That’s where this course stands apart. In this course, each shloka is composed in a different Carnatic Ragam, and what you learn are shlokas in 100 different ragams.

We believe this Soundarya Lahari program will serve as a primer for you on 100 Carnatic Ragams.
